Ambiance is a companion app for both a wearable device and home devices that monitors outdoor/indoor air quality and weather conditions. This monetization aims to provide users with the information they require, regarding air quality, to allow them to maintain a healthy exposure to their environment, inside and outside of their home.
APPROACHING THE CONCEPT
I aimed to generate an application that would provide generic daily information on air quality and weather conditions based on the outdoor environments the user would interact with and on the devices placed in different rooms of the user's household. Air quality was to be examined using the air quality index (AQI), which considers the amount of O3, PM, CO, SO2, and NO2 in the environment, and the indoor air quality index (IAQI), which considers HCHO, TVOC, PM10, PM2.5, CO, CO2, O3, Bacteria, Fungi, SO2, and NO2. Outdoor air quality was to be examined based on location and time, while indoor air quality was to be categorized by room and examined based on index number and time. Weather would be examined based on location, current and predictive conditions, humidity levels (% out of a 100) and temperature.
These low fidelity wireframes generically visualizes the different sections and features of the application.
In the mid-fidelity wireframes I began to explore visualizing the conceptualized data through 3D rendering and the organization of the hierarchy of information.
